While I'm here I'll update you on some things that have been happening.
Kessler
Besides consistenly falling asleep in his jumper, Kessler has been cutting his fifth tooth. We've had quite a few sleepless nights since this past Monday. But, it seems to be getting better. And while he doesn't like growing the teeth, he seems to like having them. He's a biter. It is extremely funny when Mark is Kessler's snack of choice, but I've learned it's no fun to be anything but a spectator in the activity. He bit me so hard last night it brought tears to my eyes and a bruise to my shoulder. OUCH!
He had his 9 month check-up yesterday and all is going well. He's 22.4 pounds (75th percentile) and 31.5 inches (90th percentile). I don't recall his head circumference, but he's in the 75th percentile as well. All the nurses were trying to flirt with him.. he'd smile and curl up into my chest, which made the nurses flirt more. He already has it figured out.
He hasn't thought much of crawling since a few nights ago. He is pulling himself up quite regularly though.
Makena
Makena is doing well. I can't believe she will be 3 on Sunday!! Time goes too quickly. She loves to play with her baby dolls. She tells us off all the time for being too loud. For example, we'll be at the supermarket and she'll say, "Shhhh, mommy, you're too loud. My baby is sleeping." "Where is your baby?" "At home sleeping, shhhh, mommy." I guess I'm really loud.
She still loves school and swimming. She never complains about either, which is so nice. Her favorite shows are Mickey's Clubhouse and Dora. Mark and I are ready for her to outgrow Dora, but she's still holding strong.
Her favorite foods for the moment are oatmeal, applesauce, yo baby yogurt (strawberry), budda bars (breakfast bars--strawberry, apple), strawberries, avocado and mac & cheese. A new favorite is pistachios. She calls them nachios. Sort of sounds like nachos, which has led to some mistakes by the kitchen staff. Really, I should be fired.
I guess that's all for now. I hope everyone is doing well!
Addendum: Makena had her 3 year check-up on Friday. She weighs 30.5 pounds and is 37 inches tall. She's finally in the 50th percentile for both!!! Yay!! It was a bit frustrating because the nurse measured wrong the first time; originally she had 34.5 inches which put her in the 5th percentile. That height along with her weight made her overweight. We contemplated making an appointment to see an endocrinologist, but decided to check in 6 months to see how she's doing. On the way out of the doctor's offie I decided to measure her again.. in 20 minutes she grew 2.5 inches and went from the 5th to 50th percentile!!

I love these pictures, your kids are so funny and cute! What kind of chair is Kessler sitting in? I always wanted to try one of the hang-on kinds, but we just never made it... we'll try it next time! ;-)
We bought the chair kind of late in the game for Makena. For some reason she never really used a high chair when we would eat out, so I thought this would work. But, we can barely remember to take the diaper bag, forget about it being stocked with what we need, let alone taking a chair (even though it's quite portable). This chair is made by Chicco. We have it attached to the counter, but our kitchen is a very poor design; if we leave the chair attached it's in the way. So, when it gets taken down it takes several weeks for me to remember that we have it and pull it out again. And, it doesn't attach to our table because the arms that attach it are so long that it just doesn't fit.
With all that being said, it's really neat. If it fit on the table it would replace the high chair. But, it might not be the best thing for the surface of the table. And if our kitchen was designed better we'd use it on the counter more often.
Hmm... very interesting. Hopefully we'll be in a different house by the time we have another, so we might try it at that time. We used the bumbo as a highchair until he was about 7 months old, then bought a big bulky highchair which is collecting dust in a closet now. We're now using some Fisher Price type of thing that sits on top of a regular chair, but I miss standing up to help feed him for some reason.
I swear, I'll never be happy with this stuff!
We did the exact same thing!! Makena used the bumbo until she was 10 months old. We had a high chair but ended up using fisher price thing, but Makena was wiggling in it one day and pushed against the table part. It slide off and she did a face plant onto the tile.
We bought the Chicco when she was like 2 (or older). She's still small enough to fit in it; I think the maximum weight is 34 lbs.
When anyone asked what's the best baby present we received. I always said the bumbo; we used that thing all the time. But, Kessler grew out of it in 4 seconds. I think we put him in it twice before he started to topple over and it became very unsafe. It's funny how every kid is different.
How big is Will?
I'm embarrassed to say that he outgrew it far before we stopped using it. I loved the Bumbo sooo much, it was so handy! He has always had big chunky legs, so we had to shove them through the little leg holes. Oops.
He's still a big boy, but has thinned out a lot since he's started running around. He's now 17 months old and is 28 lbs and about 33 inches. Pretty much the same weight as he's been for the past 7 months or so, but a couple of inches taller. I'm so excited, this is the longest he's ever been in once size! He's been wearing 18-24 month clothes for about 7 months now!
Hi Kelly... Thank you for your comments and help you posted on my Blog... I can now get the video link to work... when I compared the script you suggested with what I had in there it seems that quotation marks were all that were missing from my attempts... I put em' in and VOILA!!! it works... if you ever get to Australia - the beers on me :)
Thanks again...

Katie--I totally know how you feel. It sucks when they physically outgrow something before they outgrow the functionality!! Kessler outgrew his infant carseat and swing waaaay too soon. I kept him in both long after I should have retired them! Forget about clothes!
Bill--I'm glad it worked. I know how frustrated I was!
