Kessler is a very earlier riser. I think he always has been, but it's notable on the Gold Coast. I can't sleep past 4:00 a.m. myself. Often in the mornings Kess will come check to see if Mark and I are awake. If not, he'll go to his room and play with his toys or read.
This morning I heard him up and about, so I called him to my room. (This is Mark's first full week back in Tassie, so it's again sadly my room 4 nights a week.) Kess hopped into bed next to me. I asked him what he'd been up to. He said, "Well, I started reading a new encyclopedia, after I finished the other one." Yes, he reads encyclopedias like regular books.
I walked past his room just now and saw his bed as he left it when I called him to my room this morning. Such a sweet, smart kid.
