Beautiful Butterfly

We went to the Dublin St. Partick's Day Festival on Saturday. It was REALLY cold yet the lines to the rides were long. So, to ease our guilt for not waiting in those lines, we paid the $10 for a "fancy butterfly". Well worth it!!

Here's the making of the butterfly.

Isn't she a beauty!?!?!

Tru.. Truck.. TRUUUCK!

I have been sick for a few weeks with a short tease of a reprieve last week. I finally decided to go to the doctor again on Friday. Mark stayed home to look after the kids--he's learned I have significant limitations when I'm sick.

Being the great dad that he is, he took the kids to the park across the street while I went to my appointment. Being the typical dad that he is, he encouraged the kids to do things that make me cringe, like sliding down the slide face first or backward. On Friday, he decided that both kids should swing on the big kid swing instead of the very safe toddler swing. This is fine for Makena.. but Kessler, he's not quite ready. Apparently everything was going fine until he saw a truck. According to Kessler, the rest of the world does not respond appropriately when a truck is in their midst. What you are supposed to do is point and wave while screaming "tru, truck, TRUUUUCK!!" Though, you might not get to the "TRUUUUCK" part if you happen to see one while swinging on the big kid swing. As was the case with Kess. He ended up doing a backward somersault with a belly flop landing right into the bark. Poor Kessler!
